  What a wonderful time we had!  Photos to follow.

Please join your Regional Church in the effort to be “greener,” and consider doing as
much of your research on these projects online, and printing as little as possible.  We will, of course, gladly mail
print copies if you need them.

Going Green
Several practical ways to care for the earth and its people are offered on the flyers in your congregation:
* Recycling Hearing Aids (
www.neweyesfortheneedy.org) for use in developing nations
* Recycling Eyeglasses:  Visit your local Lions Club or LensCrafters or Ossip
* Recycling Cell Phones:  See your local shelter for battered women or contact the
Wireless Foundation
* Buy environmentally sound tissue, using post-consumer paper.  Visit Conservatree for a list of suppliers.

Ways to be Green and Save Green in 2009:
* Visit Church World Service Enough for All campaign for simple steps
* Choose Earth Friendly Paper (look for the Green Seal or Environmental Choice logo)
* Support fair trade practices
— Encourage your local coffee brewer to use only fair trade coffee.  Starbucks will listen to you!  Learn
more at the
Global Exchange site.
— Use fair trade coffee in your own congregation and home through the Disciples of Christ Coffee Project
(available for order through our Regional Office -
contact Rev. Chafin)
— Pay attention to the manufacture tags in your purchases—especially clothing.  Do you know how
the workers are paid?
